Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed Victor Boniface did not suffer a major injury after he was involved in a ghastly car crash on Sunday.

Boniface was on his way to the airport to pick up his friends when the incident occurred.

The forward’s mercedes benz collided with an oncoming truck.

Speaking to popular German news outlet Bild after the accident, his club Leverkusen informed:

“He is fine. Boniface only had two minor injuries to his hand.”

The 23-year-old was on target in Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt last Saturday.

He scored the winning goal 18 minutes from time after earlier missing a penalty.
