Nigeria’s Flamingos will be gunning for their second win at the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup when they take on debutants Ecuador on Saturday (today).

The Group A encounter will hold at the CFC Stadium, Santiago de los Caballeros.

The Flamingos opened their Dominican Republic campaign with a bang on Wednesday, handing New Zealand a 4-1 defeat.

Debutants Ecuador opened their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Dominican Republic.

Flamingos head coach, Bankole Olowookere has already highlighted the importance of going all out for a win against the South Americans.

“Our tournament strategy is to focus on the next match, take it one match at a time. We need not look farther than the next match, and now, we have Ecuador in our sights. The Ecuadorians have shown, with their defeat of the host nation, that they may be debutants but not a team to be taken for granted,” he told thenff.com.

A win for either would punch their ticket to the knockout phase, while a draw would take matters to the final day.
