Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, has spoken about the battle for the right-spot berth in his team between captain Reece James and Malo Gusto.

Maresca has been able to call on Gusto since he arrived at Stamford Bridge, with James out due to suspension and injuries.

But James returned to full training this week ahead of their Premier League trip to Liverpool.

Maresca told reporters on Friday: “It [choosing between James and Gusto] is difficult but it’s nice, but I know the one I’m going to choose is going to do well.

“I’m very happy with Malo. He’s giving us many many good things. He’s helping the process with the way we want to play a lot. We are happy with Renato when he has to play inside.

“The age he is and the maturity is top.

“First of all James has to be fit, then slowly, slowly. We have many players who are versatile.”
