Manchester City Boss, Pep Guardiola has admitted he feels so sorry for Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard as the midfielder is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to injury.

Odegaard is currently recovering from an ankle injury.

The Norway international is a doubt for Arsenal’s away Premier League clash with Man City on Sunday.

Speaking about Odegaard at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Guardiola described the 25-year-old as an exceptional player.

“I am so sorry for him. Always I like to play against the biggest and toughest squad,” Guardiola said.

“Odegaard is the captain of Arsenal and everybody knows he’s an important and exceptional player.”

“To have more players in a long, long season with injury problems, suspensions, bad form or whatever.”
