Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, has picked Robert Sanchez as his first-choice goalkeeper for next season.

This is despite Djordje Petrovic’s fine form as the Blues towards the end of the last campaign.

Petrovic emerged as the preferred stopper under Mauricio Pochettino after Sanchez suffered an ankle injury.

However, with Maresca now in charge, the goalkeeping situation has taken a different turn.

According to The Telegraph, Maresca prefers Sanchez for the role of starting goalkeeper.

The 26-year-old Spaniard is believed to be more suited to Maresca’s style as he has proven his capability to play out from the back in training.
