There is no doubt that Devara, Jr NTR’s first solo movie in almost eight years, is one of the most-anticipated and biggest releases of the Telugu film industry. It is also the biggest and most influential film to hit the screens after the change in government in Andhra Pradesh. It was expected that CM Chandrababu Naidu, and deputy CM Pawan Kalyan would provide certain benefits to Devara in terms of ticket prices and shows being increased in the initial days of its run. And these expectations were fulfilled by the government, as they issued a notice approving a considerable hike in ticket prices, and screening special early shows within Andhra.

The GO stated that the multiplexes could increase the ticket rates by Rs 135, upper-class tickets could be increased by Rs 110 more, and the lower-class tickets could be raised by Rs 60. And what has been an additional shot in the arm for the makers of Devara is that the government has allowed the screening of six special shows on the release day, beginning at midnight, and five extra shows starting from the second day.

Responding to a gratitude message from NTR Arts, the makers of Devara, actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said, “NDA government in AP under the leadership of Hon CM Sri Chandrababu Naidu garu will always want the best to happen for Telugu film Industry, irrespective of political affiliations of individuals. We respect that. But we will never stoop down like the YCP Govt troubling filmmakers and actors. I personally know the hardship of filmmakers and actors, and what they had gone through during the YCP regime. I am wishing you very best for your film release.” Notably, permission for early shows and increased ticket prices were rejected for Pawan’s recent films in Andhra Pradesh by the then YSR Jagan Mohan-lead government.
