Who would have thought that a simple word said by the villain of Rajinikanth’s Jailer would go on to become the trending hook of a viral song in Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan. But that’s exactly what happened recently through Anirudh Ravichander’s instant chartbuster, “Manasilaayo”, from TJ Gnanavel’s upcoming Rajinikanth-starrer Vettaiyan. In the recently conducted promotional event in Chennai, it was this song that took centrestage, as the raucous crowd went up in raptures anytime the song played on the stage. In a conversation with Sun News after the successful event, Rajinikanth spoke on a few things about Vettaiyan, including “Manasilaayo”.

“Of course, Anirudh’s music is a reason for Manasilaayo’s hit. But choreographer Dinesh Master’s simple yet catchy steps were very important. Also, credit should be given to the lyric writers Super Subu, Vishnu Edavan, singers Deepthi Suresh, Anirudh, and Yugendran,” said Rajinikanth, who shared that the film has come out well, but it is the audience who would be the best judge.

While the event was a resounding success, there were a few skirmishes with respect to the passes shared by the organisers. Many alleged that people had entered with fake passes as they couldn’t enter the premises despite having original passes. This created a lot of uproar among the desolate fans on social media. Addressing this issue, Rajinikanth said, “I am happy that the audio launch went well, but I heard there were some issues with respect to the event passes. I hope the administration sets things straight and ensure it doesn’t happen in future events.”

The superstar also took the opportunity to heap praise on Executive Producer GKM Tamilkumaran of Lyca Productions. “There were so many big artistes in the film, and executive producer Tamilkumaran handled all of it very well. He handled the multiple locations as requested by the director, managed the dates of so many busy stars. Just hats off to him,” said Rajinikanth.
