Bayer Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso has picked Liverpool as the favourite team to win the Europa League this season.

Liverpool have made their way to the quarter-finals of the Europa League after an 11-2 aggregate victory against Sparta Prague on Thursday.

However, Alonso, a former Liverpool midfielder believes can win the Europa League this term.

“For me it is clear. I really see Liverpool as the favourites to win the Europa League.” Alonso said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have been drawn against Atalanta in the quarter-finals.

Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen have been drawn against West Ham United.
