Sunshine Stars head coach, Kennedy Boboye has commended his players for playing to instructions in the victory over Plateau United.
The Owena Waves defeated Plateau United 3-1 at the Akure Township Stadium on Saturday.
Sodiq Ibrahim scored a brace with Yusuf Ibrahim netting the other goal.
Albert Hilary scored the consolation goal for Plateau United.
Boboye also urged his players to approach subsequent games with more hard work and dedication.
“It was an interesting game for us all, I’m glad we won convincingly and I must commend my players for doing a great job,” he said in a post-match interview.
“We played a good team, but the better side won,” he said.
With the result, Sunshine Stars moved to 12th position on the log with 30 points from 24 matches.
Up next for Sunshine Stars is a midweek tie against Katsina United.
