Nigeria forward Tolu Arokodare was a subject of online racist attacks after missing a penalty in KRC Genk’s defeat to Club Brugge last weekend.
Arokodare missed the chance to give Genk the lead from the spot in the 18th minute.
Club Brugge went on to win the game 3-0 through a Hugo Vetlesen hat-trick.
Some of the fans expressed their displeasure by attacking the striker on social media after the game.
Arokodare has eight goals in 10 starts for Genk this season.
