Former Golden Eaglets captain, Nduka Ugbade has praised the Nigeria Premier Football League for the introduction of the youth league.
Ugbade said the competition is ideal for developing talents in the country.
The U-17 tactician further stated that talents discovered must be adequately nurtured by the clubs.
“There is nothing as good as developing the youths through the NPFL U17 Youth League,” he told NPFL media at the playoffs venue in Benin City.
“This must continue. The issue is not once, it must be a thing that is continuous like FIFA has done for its U17 World Cup by making it an annual event.”
Rangers and Plateau United will face off on day three of the competition on Wednesday at 2pm while Katsina United will battle against Remo Stars at 4pm.
The playoffs are currently taking place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
