Shooting Stars head coach Gbenga Ogunbote has said the 1-0 victory over Bayelsa United was a big relief for his team.
Ogunbote expressed happiness that the team was able to end their six-game winless streak.
Kareem Ademola scored the only goal in the game, his fifth of the season.
“I think it’s a big relief for the team. The truth be said, having gone through six games without a win, definitely, you would expect that the confidence level would have dropped,” Ogunbote told the club’s media.
“The confidence level dropped but all we just wanted was to come back to winning ways and we have been able to get that.”
Shooting Stars moved up to 10th position on the table with the win.
The Oluyole Warriors will face Sporting Lagos in a southwest derby clash on matchday 18 in Lagos.
