Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has hit out at Manchester United midfielder Casemiro for his ‘clumsy’ style of play following the Red Devils’ Premier League 2-1 win against Luton Town at the weekend.
Souness said the Brazilian gives fouls away to the opponent.
Recall that Casemiro was taken off at half-time of Man United’s away win against Luton Town after he had received a yellow card for a foul on Amari’i Bell.
That was followed by a lunge at Luton midfielder Ross Barkley, which went unpunished.
“This is not new. It’s how he played at Real Madrid. He was famous for professional fouls, stopping breakaways, committing a foul, maybe taking a card for the cause because of a threatening situation,” Souness said on talkSPORT.
“You can get booked for lots of things, but he doesn’t put it about. He gives fouls away. He sees danger, sometimes a bit clumsy, slowing down.”
Casemiro, 31, joined Man United from Spanish La Liga leaders Real Madrid in 2022.
