Former Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has named ex-Blues teammate Gael Kakuta as the most talented player he ever played with during his career as a professional footballer.
Kakuta joined Chelsea’s youth team back in 2007 from Lens. Hazard joined the Congolese at the west London club from 2012 onwards and came up against the Belgian at different times when the former Real Madrid star represented Ligue 1 side Lille.
Speaking on the Obi One podcast about Kakuta, who is currently playing for Ligue 2 side Amiens SC, Hazard said:
“I am gonna give you one name and John knows the player. The only one I was saying ‘wow’ but when I stopped playing a young team, you know, in France was Gael Kakuta.
“You asked me talent. Kakuta, by far, number one. Talent. I mean, talent. Wow.”
“Me: best player every game. And then every time we play against him, we are losing game. He is the best player.”
