Nigeria’s Super Eagles went down to a 2-0 defeat against the Syli Stars of Guinea in their final friendly ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The encounter at the Banis Yas Stadium, Abu Dhabi, was played behind closed doors.
The Syli Stars took the lead in the 14th minute.
The Super Eagles were awarded a penalty four minutes later when Umar Sadiq was hacked down inside the box.
Moses Simon was however unable hit target with the Guinean goalie saving his spot kick.
Nigeria went in search of the equaliser with Sadiq directing his header off target three minutes before the half hour mark.
Samuel Chukwueze missed another chance three minutes before the break.
Guinea doubled their advantage on 64 minutes.
The Super Eagles will return to Lagos on Tuesday night where they will be hosted to a sendforth dinner by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Jose Peseiro’s side will depart for Abidjan on Wednesday.
