Former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville, has acknowledged that Argentine defender, Lisandro Martinez was lucky to have escaped a red card during their 1-1 draw with Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.

He said the Argentina International should have been sent off but the defender was only shown a yellow.

He believes Martinez was lucky he received just a yellow following his tackle on Chelsea’s main man, Cole Palmer.

Neville, a Manchester United legend, said the challenge was dangerous and should have been a straight red card.

Neville said on Sky Sports, “When you go that high I think you’re asking for a red card.

“I think he’s lucky. When you go knee-high and the ball’s gone, I think it’s a red.”
