Former England striker Alan Shearer has given his predictions on some of the Premier League fixtures that will be played this weekend.

Manchester United’s first league game without Erik ten Hag will be against Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Arsenal will be looking for revenge at Newcastle United, while Southampton take on Everton in what is a six-pointer.

Shearer, speaking with Betfair, said: “Newcastle vs Arsenal – Arsenal have one or two injuries themselves so it’s a tough one to call because they won’t like coming to St James’ Park with the great atmosphere and the defeat there last season. Having said that, they are a great team, so I’ll go for a score draw.

“Bournemouth v Manchester City – Bournemouth secured a good result last week at Villa and fought really well for it, but I’d expect Man City to take the points in this one.

“Manchester United v Chelsea – It’s a tough one to call and probably why I’ll go for a score draw.”
