Ruud van Nistelrooy is set to continue in his interim role at Manchester United until November 11.

This was confirmed following an official club statement on Friday, in which Ruben Amorim’s appointment as the next permanent manager was announced.

However, Amorim will not resume immediately at Old Trafford, as he will take charge of Sporting Lisbon’s Champions League clash with Manchester City next week.

Van Nistelrooy oversaw a 5-2 win over Leicester City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

And the Dutchman will be in the dugout for the visit of Chelsea in the Premier League this Sunday.

Van Nistelrooy will also take charge of the Europa League clash with PAOK at old Trafford and a Premier League game at home to Leicester City.

Amorim’s first game will be a trip to Ipswich Town on November 24.
