Al Nassr striker, Cristiano Ronaldo, has given Ruben Amorim the nickname “the poet”, the UK Mirror reports.

Amorim is believed to be closing in on the Manchester United job.

The 39-year-old is regarded as one of Europe’s brightest young managers.

Since he was appointed by Sporting Lisbon, he has won two Portuguese league titles.

United now want Amorim to replace Erik ten Hag who was sacked on Monday, following a 2-1 defeat at Manchester United.

Ronaldo has observed Amorim and gave him his nickname because of how he talks to the media as well as his players.

Coincidentally, Ronaldo has played for both Sporting and United during his career.
