Bayern Munich legend Thomas Muller has shared his thoughts on their 4-1 loss to Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The Spanish giants battered the Germans 4-1 at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
Before yesterday’s game, Barca had fallen six times in the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
Barcelona had not even found the back of the net against the German giants in their last four matches.
But they were excellent on Wednesday and secured a big victory and after the defeat, Muller shared his analysis of the game.
“This obviously isn’t a good feeling. We came here to win, but we lost 4-1, so there’s a lot of work out there to do for us,” he told the media.
“We perhaps had a lack of confidence in the end because of the scoreline and because of how it seemed we played.
“When we look back and analyse it, we’ll see that Barcelona had more good moments than us. I say it seemed like we had a lack of confidence, only because we didn’t press like we wanted to.
“We didn’t have the possession and control that we aimed for. We didn’t play like we were able to play; that’s what I meant. Maybe it’s only human, when losing 4-1, to step up again and to try again, but it’s not that easy.
“We had good possession of the ball, so maybe the scoreline was a little bit of a strange result.
“We have to respect that they are a good team, that Raphinha had an almost perfect night, while we missed good chances.”
