Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has made his choice of who is the greatest player of all time.

According to him, with no disrespect to Diego Maradona and Pele, Messi is the best player to grace the beautiful game.

Guardiola managed Messi at Barcelona for four seasons, winning three La Liga titles and their first continental treble, among other titles.

Messi, who now plays at MLS side Inter Miami, has 843 career goals in his basket, approaching 850 for club and country.

“Leo Messi is the best football player ever,” Guardiola told Che Tempo Che Fa (as per transfer guru Fabrizio Romano).

“Maybe I’m disrespecting Pelé and Diego Maradona, but I can’t imagine anyone like Messi, with his consistency. He’s unique.”
