Shehu Abdullahi has said the love and warmth from Kano Pillars was the reason behind his decision to make a return to the club.
Abdullahi was on the books of the four-time Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions for two years (2012-14) before moving abroad.
The 31-year-old rejoined the Sai Masu Gida for a second stint last week.
The versatile defender featured as a substitute in Kano Pillars’ 2-0 home win against Sunshine Stars last Sunday.
“I’m happy to be here, Kano Pillars is our club, everyone is proud of it. It is always a dream to see us come back to where we started our journey,” Abdullahi told Kano Pillars media.
“Kano is a home to us, they always welcome us. They were always sending us messages when we were playing in Europe to come back to play. We are happy we’re here, and hopefully we’ll make them happy as well.”
Abdullahi is expected to be named in the starting line-up when Kano Pillars take on Akwa United at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Sunday (today).
