Legendary Manchester United goalkeeper, Peter Schmeichel, has picked Ederson as the best in his position in the Premier League currently.
However, he admitted that Arsenal’s David Raya is not far behind.
Schmeichel won five Premier League titles with United and also played for Aston Villa and Manchester City.
Of the current crop of goalkeepers in England’s topflight, Schmeichel believes Ederson stands out, above Liverpool’s Alisson Becker who the Dane reckons has even slipped behind Raya given the Arsenal man’s recent form.
“Ederson is fantastic in terms of making big saves and 1v1 situations,” Schmeichel said on the Stick to Football podcast with Sky Bet.
“Alisson struggles a bit with his feet. There are a few mistakes that he would make that you don’t see from Ederson. That’s the only thing [between them].
“Ederson is the best keeper in the Premier League. David Raya is coming close now too. He has really impressed me.”
