Rivers United technical adviser, Stanley Eguma has admitted that Enyimba make things difficult for his side in their rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League game
The Pride of Rivers defeated Enyimba 2-0 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt on Tuesday night.
Deputy Echeta scored the two goals in the first half.
Eguma commended his players for showing resilience throughout the game.
“It was a top class encounter, two rival opponents, Rivers United/Enyimba FC is a cracker any day. They are defending champions and they showed that in the game,” he said in the post-match interview.
“It was a good game, three points in the bag. I appreciate the players and thank them for their effort.
“They gave us a big test and we lived up to expectations. Having been on the road for sometime, traveled to Gombe, Enugu and back to Port Harcourt, the effect of the wears and tears of the league but today against all odds to come out with a resounding 2-0 victory is a good one.”
Rivers United moved up to 11th position on the NPFL table with the win.
