Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland, will not be available for their Carabao Cup fixture against Watford on Wednesday.

According to Goal, Haaland has flown back to Norway due to a bereavement.

The 24-year-old has been granted leave by City to attend the funeral of a family friend, Ivar Eggja, who passed away earlier this month.

Eggja, a close confidante to Haaland, played an important role in the player’s career and personal life, offering both guidance and support.

City had earlier planned to grant Haaland a “compassionate leave”.

However, he played against Brentford and Arsenal in the league and also against Inter Milan in the Champions League last week.
