Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on defender, Ben White over his display against Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday.

Arteta said the right-back could run through a brick wall for the club, adding that he wanted to protect the 26-year-old by not playing him against Man City.

According to the Spaniard, the England international performed very well against Pep Guardiola’s side at the Etihad Stadium.

“I spoke to Ben yesterday, I wanted to protect him and he’s not going to ever tell you that he is not fit,” Arteta said at his post-match press conference.

“He will run through a brick wall for you and the intention was to try not to use him today [against Man City], but we had to and I’m very grateful because he performed very well.”

Goals from Erling Haaland, Riccardo Calafiori, Gabriel Magalhães and John Stones ensured both teams played a 2-2 draw.
