Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has said the team is in Kigali to claim maximum points against Rwanda.

Troost-Ekong and his teammates arrived in Kigali for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday two encounter on Sunday.

The three-time African champions will take on the Amavubi at the Amahoro Stadium, in Kigali on Tuesday.

Troost-Ekong said the game may be difficult but he is adamant the Super Eagles have what it takes to emerge victorious.

“There is nothing much to say other than that we are here for a purpose. Our target is the three points, and we have spoken among ourselves on the imperative of going hard for it from the first blast of the referee’s whistle,” the centre-back told thenff.com.

“It is going to be a tough game because Rwanda have a good team and got a point from their first match. We must not relent throughout the 90 minutes.”

The Super Eagles defeated Benin Republic 3-0 in their game in the qualifying series.

Rwanda on the other hand held Libya to a 1-1 draw.
