Super Eagles caretaker coach, Augustine Eguavoen has warned his players not to underrate the Cheetahs of Benin Republic.
Nigeria will entertain the Cheetahs in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tie at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Saturday.
Gernot Rohr’s men defeated the Super Eagles 2-1 the last time both teams met in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match in June.
Eguavoen emphasised on the need for his team to respect the Beninoise.
“We will treat Benin with utmost respect. No doubt about that because if you disrespect people, you will have a problem.
“We will play them with big respect, but then, this is our home,” Eguavoen told the Super Eagles media.
The encounter will kick-off at 5pm Nigeria time.
