Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, has said that Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz’s positioning for their goals in Liverpool’s 3-0 win at Old Trafford allowed them to “cheat”.
Diaz scored the first two goals in the first half, before Salah added a third after the break.
The win means that the Reds now have nine points from three fixtures, while United have only three points.
While United midfielder, Casemiro, was blamed for Diaz’s goals, Ferdinand pointed out how Liverpool manager, Arne Slot, instructed his wingers to take advantage of United when the opportunity presented itself.
On the Rio Presents show, Ferdinand said: “Let them cheat, that’s what we used to do.
“Initially let them cheat so if we do nick it, they’re high and their full-backs are high, they’ll never get back and two of the goals especially, the full-backs aren’t even in the picture.”
