Former Manchester City Defender, Micah Richards, has hit out at referee, Chris Kavanagh for his decision to send Arsenal’s Declan Rice off during the Gunners’ Premier League 1-1 draw against Brighton at the weekend.
Recall that Brighton held Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Kai Havertz opened the scoring in the first half for Arsenal.
But the game turned on its head after Rice received his second yellow in the second half as Joao Pedro equalized for the visitors.
Speaking on the development, Richards Richards told The Rest Is Football podcast on Monday: “I feel completely different to the way you guys [Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer] feel.
“I think that was one of the worst decisions I have ever seen [by a referee]. Letter of the law? First point, Joao Pedro kicked the ball away. He kicked the ball away! He didn’t get a yellow card.”
