Arsenal’s latest signing, Mikel Merino, has described his teammate David Raya as an amazing player.

Merino, who joined Arsenal on Tuesday from Real Sociedad, said David Raya will help him adapt at the Premier League North London club.

Merino and Raya are both international teammates with the Spain national team.

The duo won the Euro 2024 in Germany after beating England 2-1 in the final.

Speaking to Arsenal’s website, Merino said: “Obviously when the rumours started he [David Raya] was always asking me, “What’s going on? Am I going to see you next year with us?!”

“We have a good relationship and obviously won the Euros together so I am extremely happy to have him here.

“I think he will be a big help for me to adapt to this new life. He is an amazing team-mate.”
