Former Manchester United midfielder, Owen Hargreaves, has blamed manager Erik ten Hag for his poor substitutions against Brighton.

Brighton defeated Man United 2-1 in the Premier League on Saturday at the Amex Stadium.

Joao Pedro scored the winner for the host against the Red Devils.

Danny Welbeck had put Brighton ahead before Amad Diallo equalized for the visitors in the 60th minute.

Ten Hag substituted Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes during the encounter and Hargreaves feels the Dutchman’s substitutions cost Man United.

Hargreaves told Premier League Productions: “I think they [Man United] lost it on the subs. Bruno Fernandes’ face was unbelievable; he was thinking, ‘You’re taking me off?’ Then he [Ten Hag] took Harry Maguire off, which affected the shape.”
