Barcelona on Friday announced that the Spanish La Liga club has replaced Thiago Alcántara with Arnau Blanco.

Recall that Barcelona had recently appointed Alcántara as manager Hansi Flick’s assistant at the club.

However, in a statement on their website today, the Catalan club disclosed that Blanco, a former U16A coach at Barcelona, will now join Flick’s team as an assistant coach.

“Arnau Blanco joins Hansi Flick’s coaching team in place of Thiago Alcántara who today, Friday August 16, has his last day with the squad,” Barcalona’s statement read.

“The Club continues to show its commitment to the professional development of coaches at FC Barcelona.”

Blanco has worked with Barcelona’s youth system for the last 11 seasons.
