Former Watford manager, Quique Flores has given his verdict on the GOAT debate between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Messi versus Ronaldo debate has been going on for a long time as both players are currently in the tail-end of their impressive careers.

Speaking with Diario de Sevilla, Flores was asked to choose between Messi and Ronaldo.

The Spanaird sided picked Messi, insisting he has never seen a player as exceptional as the Argentine.

“I have a very clear idea of my world team. Alfredo [Di Stéfano] is my godfather and one of the best in the world, but I didn’t live through those times.

“I have been following football since Pelé’s last steps and I have never seen anything [player] like Messi,” he said.
