Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has heaped plaudits on the D’Tigress following the team’s remarkable victory over Canada.
Rena Wakama’s side sealed a place in the quarter-finals of the women’s basketball event following a hard-earned 79-70 victory over world number five Canada.
D’Tigress are the first African team, male or female, to reach the quarter-finals of Olympic basketball.
Troost-Ekong took to the social media to celebrate the team’s for the historic feat.
“Amazing achievement let’s go all the way!, he wrote on X.
The African champions will hope to go a step further by making it to the semi-finals.
