Nigeria’s Favour Ofili has qualified for the semifinals of women’s 200m at the ongoing Paris Olympics Games in France.
Ofili booked her place in the semi-final after executing a good race plan to win heat 6 in a time of 22.24s on Sunday morning.
She defeated Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith, who finished 2nd in 22.28s and Gina Bass-Bittaye 3rd in 22.84s.
This is coming days after Ofili disclosed she would not take part in the 100m race at the Olympics.
The 21-year-old had explained that the reason was because of administrative failures by the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN, and the Nigerian Olympic Committee, NOC.
