Former Aston Villa captain, Gabriel Agbonlahor has called for the immediate sacking of England manager, Gareth Southgate.
This is following the Three Lions’ 2-1 defeat to Spain in the final of the Euro 2024 at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany on Sunday.
Agbonlahor, who played few games for England during his active days, criticized Southgate, who was recently tipped for knighthood.
The former Aston Villa striker wrote on X, “Southgate knighted? Whenever we play anyone decent we get beat! Spain battered us, let’s have it right! Southgate out!”
Nothing has been said about the future of Southgate by the FA but some pundits are already making suggestions on the best hands to take over his job.
England’s defeat to Spain on Sunday meant that the Three Lions have lost two consecutive finals under Southgate.
