Spain Midfielder, Rodri, has hailed England star Cole Palmer as a ‘huge talent’ following his side’s Euro 2024 final victory over the Three Lions on Sunday night in Germany.
Recall that both Rodri and Palmer featured as Spain defeated England 2-1 in the final of the Euro 2024.
Palmer’s goal was not enough for Gareth Southgate’s side two goals from Williams and Mikel Oyarzabal gave La Roja the victory.
However, Rodri, who was named Player of the Tournament, spoke highly of Palmer, who was his former club teammate at Manchester City.
Rodri said as cited by HITC: “We knew they [England] didn’t need to play a great game to draw, to score goals.
“I know this guy (Palmer). Huge talent that he is going to be. A top player in the next few years. He put it in the corner (Palmer’s goal).
“In that moment we suffered a little bit. But this tournament, we showed something different that was key and we overcame this situation, so it was great.”
