Ifeoma Onumonu has been named as replacement for the injured Halimat Ayinde in Super Falcons’ squad for the 2024 Olympic Games, DAILY POST reports.
Ayinde picked up an injury in training last week which ruled her out of the competition.
Onumonu, who was named among the alternate players by head coach, Randy Waldrum has now been included in the 18-player squad.
In a related development, forward Regina Otu has been invited as an alternate player.
The Super Falcons are currently in Sevilla, Spain perfecting strategies for the Olympics.
The nine-time African will take on current Olympic champions, Canada in a friendly next Wednesday.
They will depart for Paris, France for the games.
Nigeria will face Spain, Japan and Brazil in Group C.
