Former Manchester United striker, Michael Owen has advised Chelsea’s Cole Palmer to ‘stay put’ at the club this summer transfer window.
Palmer enjoyed a sensational first season at Chelsea after joining from Manchester City.
The England international scored 22 goals and provided 11 assists in 33 Premier League games for the Blues.
Asked whether he sees Palmer staying at Chelsea for the foreseeable future, Owen feels the 22-year-old should remain at Stamford Bridge for the time being.
“People tend to always want to better themselves in life. I mean, it’s not just footballers. Most people would try to better themselves,” Owen told AceOdds.
“He went to Chelsea because he wasn’t getting a game at Man City. If he had the opportunity to go to a team that was going to give him more of a chance of winning the league or Champions League, then that’s when it becomes interesting.
“But listen, if Man City came back in for him and wanted to spend £100m, then that is a different question. But I think he’d probably stay put at the moment.”
