Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, side, Sunshine Stars, have sacked their head coach, Edith Agoye, according to reports.

The Owena Waves asked the former Shooting Stars coach to step aside from his position on Monday.

The club have pencilled down Kennedy Boboye, Duke Udi and Deji Ayeni as possible replacements.

Agoye was sacked following his side’s 1-0 loss away to Kwara United at the Kwara Sports Complex in Ilorin, on Saturday.

Sunshine Stars currently occupy 12th position in the Nigeria Premier Football League table.

The Akure club have recorded five wins, seven defeats and seven draws in this campaign.

Agoye led Sunshine Stars to the Championship playoff in Lagos last season.

A change in the technical department is a move to halt the club’s dwindling performance in the league.
