Tobi Amusan led Nigeria to win gold medal in the women’s 4x100m relay at the 2024 African Senior Athletics Championship in Douala on Monday night.
The quartet of Amusan, Justina Eyakpobeyan, Tima Godbless and Olayinka Olajide won the race with a time of 42.76s.
Their West African rivals, Liberia and Ghana, came in second and third, respectively.
Nigeria has never lost this event at the African Athletics Championship since 2018.
Amusan was part of all three teams.
In the men’s 4x100m relay, Nigeria came in second, with Ghana claiming the gold medal.
The quartet of Kanyinsola Ajayi, Usheoritse Itsekiri, Alaba Akintola, and Godson Brume clocked 38.84s.
Ghana won with a time of 38.63s, while Ivory Coast claimed the bronze medal with a time of 39.77s.
