Abia Warriors head coach, Bethel Oji, has commended his players for their determination in the win over Akwa United.

The hosts defeated Akwa United 2-0 at the Umuahia Township Stadium on Sunday.

Sunday Megwo scored both goals for Abia Warriors.

The victory confirmed their place in the Nigeria Premier Football League for another season.

“The game against Akwa United is our last home match and without victory in the match, maybe we will be relegated,” he stated to the media.

“We did everything tactically and technically in the game to get all the important points.”

Abia Warriors now occupy 10th position on the table with 51 points from 37 games.
