Abia Warriors head coach Bethel Oji has commended his players for playing to instructions in their victory over Gombe United.

The Umuahia-based club defeated the Savannah Scorpions 3-1 at the Pantami Stadium on Wednesday.

Samson Obi bagged a brace, while Anthony Dezousa scored the goal for Abia Warriors.

“It was a great performance from the players and I thank them for following the instructions given to them,” he told Abia Warriors media.

“We almost lost the game when it was 1-1 but we thank God for returning to win the game.

“The atmosphere at the Pantami Stadium also favoured us compared to what we had in our last game in Umuahia which was filled with downpours of rain.”

Abia Warriors climbed up to 13th position following the win in Gombe.
