Benjamin Tanimu is upbeat the Super Eagles will secure a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup despite their stuttering start to the qualifying campaign.
Finidi George’s side battled to a disappointing 1-1 draw with the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in Uyo on Friday night.
It was the Super Eagles third consecutive stalemate in Group C.
The three-time African champions sit in fifth position in the pool with three points from three games.
Tanimu is, however, confident that they will make it to the 2026 World Cup finals.
“I feel sad over the result, as that’s not how we wanted it,” Tanimu wrote on his X handle.
“But trust me, the journey will end well!”
The Super Eagles will take on Squirrels of Benin Republic in a matchday four at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan on Monday.
