Barcelona have officially confirmed the appointment of Hansi Flick as their new head coach.

Flick succeeds Xavi after the club decided to part ways with the former captain at the end of the season.

The German coach, renowned for leading Bayern Munich to a treble in the 2019-20 season, has been out of work since his dismissal as Germany’s national team coach in September.

The two-year deal with Barcelona marks Flick’s first coaching role outside of his home country.
