Watford legend, Troy Deeney has singled out a Manchester United midfielder as the most underwhelming player of the season.

Man United have struggled significantly under manager Erik ten Hag, facing the possibility of their worst-ever Premier League finish as the season draws to a close.

The Red Devils are in danger of missing out on European competition entirely as they gear up to play Brighton on Sunday.

Among the many players who have failed to impress this season, Deeney has been especially critical of Casemiro, labeling the Brazilian as the ‘biggest disappointment’ of the year.

Asked to name the player who has disappointed him most this year, Deeney told The Sun:

“Casemiro. I never expected him to have the legs or to run around everywhere, or to be the best defensive midfielder in the world.”
