Rivers United assistant coach Ken Chukwu has attributed his team’s defeat against Abia Warriors to fatigue.
The Port Harcourt club lost 2-0 to Abia Warriors at the Umuahia Township Stadium on Wednesday.
Samson Obi and Meme Okike were on target for Abia Warriors in the game.
He expressed optimism that the team would bounce back in their next game.
“Glory be to God for the performance, when the game changes, fatigue sets in, as you can imagine the number of matches Rivers United have played in days now,” he stated in a post-match interview.
“Our team is a champion team and we don’t complain; we go home and tighten all the loose areas.”
Rivers United have garnered 41 points from 31 games.
