Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has slammed Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers, saying the player misses goal-scoring opportunities.

He said the Nigeria international might cost Rangers amid their quest to win the Scottish Premiership.

It could be Rangers’ first title since the 2020–2021 season.

Dessers was in action for his side for 90 minutes but failed to score as they beat Rangers Kilmarnock on Sunday.

Desser’s disposition to miss clear goalscoring opportunities has received a lot of backlash since he arrived at Ibrox.

“The point Kris makes about Dessers, and he has banged on about it all season, is that he does miss opportunities,” he told Sky Sports via Rangers News

“He had two or three opportunities in this game to go first time. Most natural finishers would do that. He is always trying to chop back.

“We know how big the game is next week, everybody knows how big the game is next week. It can depend on a moment like that on your striker being decisive, whether Rangers win or lose the game.”
