Former Nigeria international Efe Ambrose has exposed the Super Eagles’ major weakness ahead of their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, tie with Ivory Coast on Thursday.
According to Ambrose, Jose Peseiro’s men are lacking team play and togetherness.
The Super Eagles drew 1-1 in their first game at the ongoing 2023 AFCON against Equatorial Guinea last weekend.
Speaking to the BBC ahead of Nigeria’s clash with Ivory Coast, Ambrose said: “You have to play first as a team – it is not about individuals.
” I think that is what we are lacking right now – that team, that togetherness.
“I don’t think that it is not there, but it is not up to where it should be.
“Individuals will have the talent, they have everything but it is about how to assemble the right players with quality together, to work together as one.”
